The Black and White Beach Bar has been operating for several years now. It has been developed by Mama and Buba to create a pleasant and peaceful environment for you to enjoy. We have planted trees and shrubs, built toilets and a restaurant and kept the beach clean. Despite our best efforts and the financial investments we have made there have been difficult times. The worst of these occurred when the authorities bulldozed our main building, alleging that it was an 'illegal habitation', which is something that Gambian law does not allow close to the ocean. We have never run any kind of habitation at this location but we are powerless to argue with the authorities so all we can do is try to bounce back.
